HOW IT ALL STARTED
MEKANIX has been in the business of the extreme, obscure, and the can’t-be-done since the days of yore. Our passion is for an unusual swap, custom creation or one of a kind designs; a marriage of form and function, we have been melding, crafting and blending materials together in ways often not considered or even intended for nearly 30 years. Our team of dedicated professionals can puzzle thru nearly any solution and create something unique.
Our first major swap was in 1995 when upgrading Volkswagens was something of a new process. Using a methodical approach to the task, we installed a late-model computerized engine from a European vehicle into an early MK1 that was never intended to accept such a beast. All done before the benefit of the internet. Fast forward (literally) today when we are routinely swapping axles, engines, drivelines and custom modifications to personal, fleet, mining, film and television and themed vehicles.

PHILOSOPHY
We are not in a race to be the cheapest, discount provider of services in the industry. Doing so would mean that we don’t respect the effort needed to understand what works for you.
We DO, however, strive to be the best it is at what we do.
